Born and raised in the town of Canmore, Frank Kernick is
pleased to assume ownership of the Restwell property which has
been in the family since 1927. Frank is fully aware of the
responsibility which comes with this ownership - that of
directing the future of the Restwell lands. His family
connection to the property, education and professional
background all stand him in good stead in terms of managing
this asset into the future.
Frank graduated from the University of
Calgary with an Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
in 1985. After working in Calgary for several years, he moved
his family back to Canmore. Frank, his wife Lori, and their
three children have been active members of the Canmore
community ever since. His professional background is in
engineering and land development. He started his first
development company, Grotto Mountain Development Inc. in 1990
with the initial idea of building a manufactured housing
community in the Town of Canmore.
Over the past 10 years Frank has been involved in these
Canmore area development projects: Canyon Close, a 49 lot
residential subdivision; Grotto Mountain Village, a 125 lot
manufactured housing community; Eagle Terrace Residential
Developments, a 417 lot residential community. Lakeview
Meadows is currently being developed by his British Columbia
company, Holland Creek Developments. Lakeview Meadows is a 285
unit residential/recreational community in Windermere, B.C.
and this project is one of the most successful developments in
the Windermere Valley.
With his extensive development experience in mountain
communities added to his knowledge of and standing in Canmore,
Frank is ideally suited to take on the planning and
supervision necessary to redevelop Restwell Trailer Park over
the long term. He is proud to be engaged in this next phase of
the Kernick family's long ownership and history with the
Restwell Trailer Park lands.
